Aleksey Revenko opens up new worlds for the guitar

From Renaissance themes to fusion and New Age - guitarist and composer Aleksey Revenko presents a new cycle dedicated to Bach and Mozart in two 2027 recitals: at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and the Berliner Philharmonie.

In 2027 Aleksey Revenko gives two solo recitals on Germany's most prominent concert stages - on 21 April in the Kleiner Saal of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and on 15 October in the Kammermusiksaal of the Berliner Philharmonie. Both evenings are devoted entirely to his own music.

Revenko's art offers a deep and genuinely new perspective on the guitar and its possibilities: an unmistakable sound, a strong melodic instinct, and a compelling symbiosis of very different styles.

The programme brings together the composer's neoclassical and Renaissance-inspired works, among them Ballerina, Ludovik, Drama in the Desert, Balloon Flight, Children's Fantasy, Medieval Suite and Hommage to Richie.

Both concerts also feature a new cycle of Revenko's own guitar pieces, dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - a project the composer has been working on intensively over the past months, heard for the first time in Hamburg.

Beyond this, Revenko draws fusion and New Age into an organic dialogue with Spanish traditions, Irish motifs and Renaissance themes, in an interpretation that is virtuosic and, at the same time, finely nuanced and deeply moving.

His playing technique is unmistakable and his musical language strikingly independent. His guitar seems to speak with a human voice, conjuring entire worlds of images and drawing the audience through changing moods, epochs and imaginative spaces. Rooted in the classical academic guitar tradition, the artist moves between styles with remarkable ease and turns his concerts into expansive guitar soundscapes - music that enriches, inspires and touches the soul.
